Halloween Cheese Ball

The base cheese ball for many creative halloween shapes including witch hats and cauldrons.

  • 16 oz cream cheese
  • 1 cup cheddar cheese grated
  • 2 scallions sliced
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1-2 dashes hot sauce
  • 2-3 slices crumbled bacon optional


  • In a medium sized bowl, mix together cheese ball ingredients.

To make mini witch hats:

  • Roll 1 tbsp into a ball. Using hands, carefully form into witch hat shape with a point. Roll in crushed blue corn tortilla chips. Refrigerate for 1 hour until cheese firms up and holds shape. Serve on top of round blue corn tortilla chip to complete the with hat!

To make cauldron:

  • Roll ⅔ of cream cheese mixture into a ball. Coat in poppy seeds and set aside. Put remaining ⅓ cream cheese mixture into a piping bag. Pipe a round edge on top of the ball, forming the top of the cauldron. Coat rim in poppy seeds.
  • Add guacamole with pomegranate arils to resemble brewing potion.
  • Cut small pieces of bell peppers to make flames. Using the 1 tbsp of reserved cheese mixture, smear a little on each piece before sticking to the side of the caludron.
  • Break pretzel rods in half and form into a circle to resemble logs. Serve cauldron on top of pretzel rods and serve with crackers!
