Gyro Salad with Homemade Dressing and Greek Yogurt Sauce

All the flavors from a traditional gyro are transfered into this salad recipe which is served with a homemade dressing and a greek yogurt sauce. It's much less messy, but just as delicious!

Salad Dressing

  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tbsp red wine vinegar
  • ¼ tsp oregano
  • 1 pinch pepper

Yogurt Sauce

  • ¼ cup Greek yogurt
  • half lemon squeezed
  • ¼ tsp oregano
  • 1 pinch pepper
  • 2 tbsp feta cheese

Gyro Salad

  • 2 Gyro slices Trader Joe's
  • Mixed greens
  • cucumbers quartered
  • cherry tomatoes halved
  • red onion thinly sliced
  • feta cheese
  • peperoncino


  • Mix the salad dressing ingredients together and set aside.
  • Make the yogurt sauce by mixing together Greek yogurt, lemon juice, pepper, and oregano. Set aside.
  • Cook gyro slices in a skillet according to package.
  • While the gyro slices are cooking, prepare your salad. Add mixed greens to a bowl. Add onions, cucumbers, cherry tomatoes, feta cheese.
  • Top with cooked gyro slices. Add a dollop of yogurt sauce on top and drizzle with salad dressing.
  • Serve with a side of peperoncino!
