The Easiest Mini Wonton Taco Cups

This recipe is the perfect appetizer for game day, Cinco de Mayo, or any Taco Tuesday. You make the wonton tacos and let your guests choose the toppings. Give it a try!

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 packet taco bell taco seasoning
  • 1 handful cheese
  • 1 heaping tbsp refried beans
  • wonton wrappers

Topping suggestions:

  • shredded Mexican cheese
  • shredded lettuce
  • salsa
  • pico de gallo
  • Taco Bell sauce
  • cubed avocado or guac
  • onion chopped
  • cilantro for garnish


  • Preheat oven to 350° F.
  • Spray a muffin pan with nonstick spray. Gently press one wonton wrapped into each muffin cup. Bake for 7-8 minutes until shells are golden brown. Remove from the oven and let cool.
  • While wonton shells are cooking, cook ground beef in a skillet until browned. Drain, return to pan, and add taco seasoning mix. Cook according to the package.
  • Add a handful of quesadilla cheese and a heaping tablespoon of refried beans to the meat mixture. Stir until cheese is melted. Remove from the heat and set aside.
  • Assemble wontons. Add a heaping tablespoon of meat mixture to each wonton shell. Sprinkle with shredded lettuce and Mexican shredded cheese. Serve with other recommended toppings. Enjoy!
